Twinning With My Girl in an Animal Print Bomber Jacket

A few weeks ago, I realized I haven’t been putting my effort into my kids’ clothes. One of my good friends’ kids always look so stylish, so cool, and my kids always look, well, clean. The best I could come up with was clean and cute. Sure, they are cute, but their clothes weren’t accentuating just how cute they are, how much personality they have, how full of life they are. Then I saw this animal print bomber jacket, and I knew my daughter had to have it.

It may seem like a dumb thing, to spend time worrying about what your’e kids will wear, and that’s probably why I didn’t put much thought into it. But then I thought a little more about it. I definitely take time to think about what i’m going to wear. It’s not superficial to want to look nice. The world perceives us a certain way by how we dress, how we present ourselves to the world. So it does matter. I want my kids to know that too.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not at all saying you should spend a ton of time or money to dress your kids (or yourself) to the nines. I’m just saying that there is something important about taking the time to help your kids develop a personal sense of style. Caring about how you dress and how you look is important. It’s never too early for your kids to know that too.

When I found this coat for my daughter, I just knew I wanted to do a twinning shoot with her. There are a couple reasons for that. First, she really loves dressing and looking like me. Second, she was so excited by this jacket that I knew she’d be even more excited if we both wore one. As you can see, we had so much fun and I think the photos show just how much we love each other. Honestly, these might be my favorite pictures of all time with her. I love this girl so much and the animal print bomber definitely captures her personality. I’m loving the personal style she already expresses, so I’m going to help her dress it just as she likes.
