3 Quick Tips for How to Style a Black and White Bodysuit

There are certain trends from the 80s and 90s that I dreaded coming back into fashion. One of those was bodysuits. Honestly, I’ve always struggled with bodysuits because I have a long torso. I always found them to be very uncomfortable because they would ride up so much. What I’ve found is that I actually don’t mind bodysuits if they have a flowy top or super stretchy material to accommodate my long torso. I recently found this black and white striped bodysuit and it’s perfect for this early fall weather in LA.

The one struggle with bodysuits like I’m wearing is that you have to make sure you wear high-rise pants or skirts with it. The reason you need a higher-rise bottom is that the bottom half of this one-piece bodysuit is a black stretchy material and the top half is the black and white striped bodysuit. You don’t want the black to peek out, so your bottoms must be higher rise. I chose to pair it with these pull-on high-rise black wool pants. They are ultra comfortable but also perfect for work or the evening.

Since it’s still pretty warm in LA, I chose to pair this look with wedges and I didn’t need a coat that day. However, I would definitely add a coat for most evenings. This look would pair well with a bold leather jacket or even a cropped denim jacket. If I wanted to keep it a work look, I could also throw on a trench. If the weather is cooler, I’d definitely add a heeled black bootie.
