12 Homemade Candy Recipes
I can’t believe it’s October already. But I’m happy it’s October because, in Phoenix, that means fall is here — the nights are the perfect temperature and days are a lot more bearable. Fall is also my favorite time of the year because it means Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because I love getting to dress up and I really love candy — especially chocolate. As a child, I would hoard my chocolate. I would eat all the sugary candies first and save the chocolate for special occasions. I’d have no more than one piece day, which would literally last for months. My favorites were the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, followed by the Snickers, Twix, and Milky Way. Oh! And those little Mr. Good Bars too!
I rarely eat candy these days, but during October, I’m always tempted by the candy that seems to be lying around the office, or the left-overs from trick-or-treating. Thinking about Halloween candy, I got to thinking about homemade versions that might be less processed (and maybe slightly healthier?!). I’ve never tried my hand at homemade candy recipes, but I think it’s high-time.
