Must-Try Cinco De Mayo Margarita Recipes
I wanted to share these wonderful Cinco De Mayo margarita recipes because, during my coming of age in Green Bay, this wonderful holiday passed us by, which is a darn shame.
“So, May 5th is a holiday about drinking?” I asked my friends when I first moved to Phoenix in 2004. I’d never heard of Cinco de Mayo before that. How had I been so unaware of just another excuse to drink excessively, my younger self thought. Of course it wasn’t about getting boozed (in case you’re wondering what it’s really about), but that was how it was promoted — think Mexican St. Patrick’s Day, with margaritas instead of green beer.
As such, in my twenties, “Cinco de Drink-o”, as my friend Jill affectionately calls it, was always a party filled with chips and guacamole and way too many margaritas.
Since May 5th is right around the corner, I started searching for margarita recipes. Wow, there are so many different recipes out there. If you are really creative, you might consider trying margarita cupcakes or even frozen margarita pops.
