Front Slit Jeans: How to Style and Wear this Moden Denim

I’ve been on the hunt for new jeans this fall. I own several pairs of cropped ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ jeans. I tried out the wide-leg style earlier this fall, but I still don’t feel like I have a well-rounded jeans wardrobe. Enter these front slit jeans.

Flare Jeans are Back in Style?

A friend of mine suggested I try out flare jeans, but I just can’t. Heavy flares look weird on me, and any jeans that are mildly flared or bootcut take me right back to the late 90s. I do struggle with re-emerging trends that I wore when I was in high school and college. It always feels just too retro for me. That’s why I love these slit front jeans. This is not a style I’ve seen or worn before, so it feels like a much more modern way to wear flair-style of jeans.

Reasons I Love These Split Front Jeans

There are several reasons I’m loving these front split jeans. First, these jeans with front slits are so flattering. They hug the hips and thighs and then flare out at the bottom, which really balances out the hourglass shape. Unlike skinny jeans, these split front hem jeans do help to balance out the body.

Another thing I love about this particular pair of jeans with slits in front is that the wash and style feel dressier and more elevated than your regular pair of jeans. A lot of my current jeans have rips in them, which instantly have a more casual feel. These jeans just feel more dressy. I recently wore them to go out on a Saturday night. They easily go from day to drinks with friends.

How to Style Front Slit Jeans

To style these jeans with slits at the front, you can honestly wear almost anything. I think they look great with pumps or strappy sandals to show off the ankle and create an even longer leg line. But I’ve also styled these jeans with booties, which totally works too. Your shoes and ankles will draw a lot of visual attention, so definitely keep that in mind. I’ve received several compliments every time I wear these jeans, so they are definitely noticeable. I chose to pair this casual work-day look with a simple cardigan with cut-out details at the shoulders, and a neutral grey handbag and shoes. I wanted the star of the look to be the jeans, and I think it is.
