When we moved to Phoenix, we bought a new couch that came with two retro-70’s print throw pillows. Not my favorite, but we’ve used them for the last several months since we had them.
Recently, the seams began to split and they need mending. I see this as a good thing because I don’t like them anyway, so it gives me the perfect excuse to replace them.
Initially, I started shopping for new ones, but then I thought, why not try to make some myself? I reintroduced myself to sewing last fall when I made Rocco’s costume. If I was able to make his more detailed costume, surely I can sew a square for a pillow cover.
To get some ideas for DIY throw pillows for couch, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration. Here are 8 fun ideas I’m considering for our couch. I really love the origami one, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try it. Maybe I’ll try a couple of these ideas to replace our tattered ones. Which one is your favorite?
1. Textured – Thrifty and Chic
2. Envelope – The Blue Eyed Dove
3. Cable Knit – Create Craft Love
4. T-Shirt Ruffles – The Sweet Life
5. Watercolor – Brit. Co
6. Dish Towel – Domestically Speaking
7. Origami – Primitive and Proper
8. Side Tie – Gwenny Penny
