Three Pays: Railroad Stripe Jeans

railroad stripe jeansWhat do you think of railroad stripe jeans? Initially, they reminded me of my childhood—I’m pretty sure I had a train conductor’s hat, with the same railroad stripes, at some point. But I kind of like the youthful flare railroad stripe jeans have to them.

I love this J. Crew look for several reasons. First, I love how they paired the vertical railroad stripe pants with a horizontal striped top. The white double-breasted blazer and heels add a dressed up feel against the more casual pants and top. The pop of blue in the scarf adds dimension, texture and more pattern. The look is so crisp and modern, and I love how they stuck with just white and blue for the color palette.

If you want to get this look, I’ve pulled similar pieces at two different price points to accommodate anyone’s budget. If you’re looking to add pieces to your wardrobe, I’d start with the railroad stripe jeans and the blazer, as you could substitute in almost any top, scarf and heels to recreate this look.
