The other day, I received several bottles of Risata Moscato wine. It is a sweet white wine that has citrusy notes, so I decided I'd try to create a cocktail with it. I wanted to create a sangria margarita recipe because a classic margarita is one of my favorite drinks, and Cinco De Mayo is right around the corner! Ever since I first lived in Arizona starting in the early 2000s, Cinco De Mayo remains one of my favorite holidays. Honestly, what's not to love? It's the best excuse to eat delicious Mexican food and enjoy some of my very favorite cocktails - the more lime flavor the better! If you like lemon and lime flavors, this sangria margarita recipe is for you. You can totally adjust the amount of lemon and lime to suit your taste preferences. I err on the side of extra lime because I prefer a tart drink. I also wanted to ensure the lemon and lime balanced out the super sweet wine. This recipe will take you only minutes to make. I tried to jazz it up a little bit by adding more lemons and limes for decorations in the pitcher and the glasses. You could also do wedges, if you prefer those to slices. Sangria Margarita Recipe Ingredients: A bottle of white wine (I used Risata Moscato, but any white wine can work) 1 ½ cup tequila (I used Jose Cuervo, but any tequila can work) 1 cup triple sec 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 1 lemon, sliced 2 limes, sliced Coarse salt for glass rims Ice for serving Directions: In a large pitcher combine the white wine, tequila, triple sec, orange juice and lime juice. Add the lemon slices and lime slices/ Chill for at least 2 hours. Serve over ice with a salted rim and extra lime slices, if desired. To salt the rim, wipe the rim of the glass with lime then dip upside down in salt.
