Being a part of the #GalSquad with The Red Door Spas has some major perks. Namely, I get to try out spa treatments every once in awhile. Right before I left for a two-week work trip, I had the chance to experience their Mint Julep Pedicure. This was my first time visiting the Red Door Spa's Biltmore location. I used to live near the Biltmore so I remember the original Red Door spa there. With a little bit of research, I found out they opened their current location more than 5 years ago. It is modern, elegant and even has a fancy coffee shop on the first floor so you can order drinks while you get your treatments. Right when I arrived, I was warmly greeted and taken to the pedicure area where they offered me a drink and let me choose from the tons of Essie shades for my polish. I chose a dark red color to prep for fall. The seating area for the pedicures is so plush. They have these giant comfortable seats with stylish pillows. I also loved the little separator curtains and the overall feel of the place. The decorating is just so spot-on. The pedicure itself was great. They started by exfoliating my feet with a citrus grass salt scrub. Then, they massaged mint julep and lavender shea butter into my legs for really great hydration. It also smelled amazing. The aesthetician even gave me some to use on my hands and I admired the great smell. The next step included a paraffin treatment, which is hot wax inside of plastic bags which helps to seal in the moisture. To end, she added one base coat, two color coats and one top coat of polish onto my nails. What I appreciated the most about this mint julep pedicure was how much attention the aesthetician paid to my cuticles. She spent a lot of extra time pushing them back and ensuring my nail beds were clean. Overall, I really enjoyed the pedicure. The paraffin treatment is so relaxing. There is something about having hot wax around your feet that just feels so calming. If you're looking for a top-notch, high-end pedicure, I would highly suggest the Mint Julep pedicure from Red Door Spas.
