Last week, I did a holiday entertaining segment on KTLA and I shared this Christmas tree cupcake topper tutorial. This is a perfect holiday recipe because it is so easy to make at home and you don't need to be an expert at making candy or baking to create these adorable candy Christmas trees. All you need is a bag of pretzels, some green candy melts, some sprinkles, a plastic sandwich bag, and candy stars. Then, you can follow the simple recipe directions, let the trees dry, and stick then right into your cupcakes. Ingredients: Candy Melts Pretzels Sprinkles Stars Plastic Storage Bag Directions: fMelt candy melts until smooth. Add the candy melts to a plastic bag and cut a tiny cut in the corner of the bag. Lay out the parchment paper and line it with pretzel sticks. Zigzag the candy melts over the pretzels to make the tree shape. Add sprinkles, if desired. Let dry completely, then flip over and zigzag on the back of the pretzel so both sides have a tree shape. Allow drying completely before sticking them into cupcakes. For a major shortcut, you can buy store-bought cupcakes. I did. I got vanilla cupcakes with white icing. Then, I removed the sprinkles that were on the cakes, spread out the frosting a bit, and then rolled the frosting in shredded coconut to create that snowy effect on the cupcakes. Then, once the trees were dry, I put one into each of the cupcakes for the finished effect. I think this Christmas tree cupcake topper recipe turned out so cute and I know this would be a fun dessert to serve this holiday season.
