To say I’m busy is beyond an understatement. So, finding a me-time moment is so important. With that in mind, I wanted to share 4 quick me-time moments that help me get through each day. Start with Coffee Did you know September 29th is National Coffee Day? If you know me, you know I can’t go a day without coffee. I love it. I start each morning with coffee – iced in summer and hot in winter – to kickstart my day and give me the little energy boost I need. Make a Quick & Balanced Breakfast I always pair my morning coffee with breakfast. Lately, one of my favorites is to have a small bowl of low fat Greek yogurt with some fresh blackberries and I pair it with my favorite belVita Breakfast Biscuits. This combination makes for a nicely balanced breakfast that gives me nutrition to power through my mornings. Stay Active No matter how busy I am, I always find time to get active. That might mean a 15-minute walk around my neighborhood, or it might be an hour sweating it out in my impromptu home gym. Being active is so important because it is a great way to destress and also maintain a healthy heart and body. I know it can be hard to find time to work out, but it doesn’t have to be anything serious to still be great for your mental and physical health. Since I work from home, a simple way I’ve incorporated more movement is to switch from working at my dining room table to standing at my standing desk in my bedroom. Spending an hour standing does wonders for my posture and my health. When we sit for too long, it’s not good for our bodies, so this is a little way to incorporate more movement. Plus, it forces me to walk up and down my steps a few times during the day too. Find Time to Relax It is super important to our mental and physical health to manage stress. People manage stress in all different ways, but a few good ones include meditation, journaling, yoga, deep breathing, and other physical exercises. I also tend to relax by watching and laughing at silly videos on my social media apps, decompressing by talking about my day with my friends or watching a comedy on a streaming platform. No matter how you destress, it’s just important that you do it. It’s the best way to make sure you get your quick me-time moments.
