How to Make Pot of Gold Oreo Dipped Cookies: A Fantastic St. Patty’s Day Dessert

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, so I made these adorable Pot of Gold Oreo Dipped Cookies. My kids love a festive treat, and they were so excited to see these adorable dipped Oreos. If you’re looking for a fun and festive treat this St. Patrick’s day, these pot of gold cookies are easy to make and so darn cute.

A Brief History of St. Patrick’s Day:

St. Patrick’s Day honors the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, who is credited with bringing Christianity to the Emerald Isle in the 5th century. What began as a religious feast day commemorating St. Patrick’s death has evolved into a global celebration of Irish culture, heritage, and identity. Over the centuries, St. Patrick’s Day has become synonymous with parades, shamrocks, leprechauns, and, of course, indulgent treats like the ones we’re about to create.

St. Patrick’s Day Delight: Oreo Dipped Cookies

Now, let’s turn our attention to the star of the show – Pot of Gold Oreo Dipped Cookies. These delightful treats capture the essence of St. Patrick’s Day with their shimmering golden coating and rich chocolatey center. They’re not only a feast for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes, resembling the legendary pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

Oreo Cookies
Black Candy Melts
Gold Sprinkles
Rainbow Candies
Four Leaf Clover Sprinkles

Instructions:

Prepare Your Workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This will provide a non-stick surface for your cookies to dry on.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts according to the package instructions. Stir until smooth.

Dip Your Cookies: Using a fork or dipping tool, carefully dip each Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is completely coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the dipped cookie onto the prepared baking sheet.

Sprinkle on the Gold: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle gold sprinkles generously over the top edge of the dipped cookies. This will give them that coveted “pot of gold” appearance.

Add the Clover Sprinkles: Gently add clover sprinkles to the bottom of each cookie for a festive touch

Rainbow Touch: Add a bit of rainbow to the top of the cookie. You can add this in the crease where the OREO cream is. Or, you can add it to the back of the cookie. It wil stick while the candy melts are still wet.

Chill and Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate coating has hardened completely.

Serve and Enjoy: Once set, your Pot of Gold Oreo Dipped Cookies are ready to be enjoyed! Arrange them on a platter and watch as they disappear before your eyes.

I think these Oreo dipped cookies turned out so cute. I hope you’re as excited as we are to share these enchanting Pot of Gold Oreo Dipped Cookies with your loved ones.  So don your greenest attire, embrace the spirit of the season, and let’s make some St. Patty’s Day magic together!
