Here are 10 of the Cutest Beach Cover Ups I’ve seen This Year

Since I just went to the Bahamas and Florida and it’s going to be in the 80s this week in LA, I needed to get some new beach cover ups. If you’re heading off to spring break or just need to add some new beach wear to your wardrobe, read on to read about some of my favorite cover up options.

Beach Cover Up Dresses

I almost always wear a beach cover up dress. Basically, its a cover up that can easily transition into a summer dress look. I love this option because you can go from the beach or pool to grab lunch or run some errands after your time in the sun. Also, I love a beach dress cover up because it is more modest than a lot of cover ups. Although I do think it’s great to feel sexy at the beach, I sometimes think it is more appropriate for me to be a bit more covered up – especially when I’m with my kids.

Sexy Beach Cover Ups

There are much more revealing options if you’re looking for something sexier. I’ve seen a lot of mesh and completely sheer cover-ups that will definitely turn heads. If you’re looking for sexier options, check these out.

Plus Size Options

I wear straight sizes, but sometimes I struggle to find cover ups because they often come in ‘one size fits all’. Well, those tend not to work for me because I have wide hips and if there is no stretch in the clothing they won’t work for me. If you’re looking for affordable options in plus size, here are some great options.

How to Style Your Cover Up

My style tips are how you can take a beach cover up from the beach to lunch or happy hour. Obviously this advice is going to vary so much depending on where you are going next and what style of cover up you choose. This is the time when I definitely think opting for a beach dress cover up is the way to go. They work so much better than a sheer coverup or a sarong. Of course, those have their place, but a dress that also works as a cover up transitions more easily after you’re done at the beach.

If you’re planning to go out to lunch or happy hour, I would suggest throwing on some cute wedges or summery sandals with a heel. If your hair is a little messy from the beach, you can add some beach wave spray and go natural, put it in a top knot, or my go-to, which is a side braid. I always like to have a smaller wicker or rattan bag that feels beachy but also works for going to lunch or happy hour. Another way to elevate a cover up to going out look is to add some chunky gold jewelry. I personally think gold feels so much more like summer, so it’s perfect to layer over your cover up.
