Spring Fashion

Do you remember Rainbow Bright? I do. I had a doll and I even had a Rainbow Bright costume one Halloween. Rainbow striped things have been my thing ever since then. In college, I even rocked a rainbow striped bed spread that was from deliA*s (do you remember that brand? I was obsessed in late HS and early college).

Raise your hand if you avoid wearing shorts at all costs. ME! Up until a year or two ago, you’d never catch me in shorts. Seriously never. I have always been super critical of my legs, especially my chubby knees and thighs. So, I always hid my legs. You’d catch me in lots of sun dresses and a-line dresses that hit at the knee or mid-calf, but never in shorts.

Sometimes I stumble on a trend that I didn’t even realize was a trend. That’s what happened last week when I got this new red animal print dress. I chose it because I liked the simple t-shirt style shape with the tie at the waist. But once I started searching for comparable red animal print dresses, I realized they are everywhere! There are high-end ones, like this Saint Laurent, and totally affordable ones, like mine.

You know that time at the beginning of spring where it’s not quite that warm yet but you want to wear summer dresses? That’s why I got this yellow and black floral dress. It is the perfect transition piece from winter to spring. The yellow floral print on a black dress feels very wintery, but can also work great the rest of the year too! It really just depends on how you style it.

I recently found this Shein spring floral dress for only $16 and I immediately searched for the same dress in more prints. I’m one of those people who buys multiples of the same item if I love it. Unfortunately, this is the only version of this dress. But, thankfully, there are tons of other affordable Shein floral dresses for spring.

Los Angeles is in bloom! I love jacaranda season, as I call it. These purple flowering trees are my absolute favorite. Ironically, my very first blog post (8 years ago!) was about my love of the jacaranda trees back when we lived in Irvine. The other day I was at the park with my kids and I saw this gorgeous tree in bloom so I planned an outfit specifically around a shoot with this tree.

Most of the time, I share dressier looks. I love to dress up, but honestly, I hardly ever get to wear dressy clothes. I work from home most of the time, so I rarely need to wear my business professional or even business casual clothes. On the weekends, even if I’m going out with friends, I usually opt for jeans and a leather jacket. On a rare occasion, I’ll break out a fancier dress. But, most of the time, I’m rocking casual mom outfits, like this one.

I recently got this bright pink pleated dress. I love how classic the style is, yet the bold color makes it so perfect for spring. Pleats are such a classic style and definitely a wardrobe staple. I can still remember a teal pleated skirt I had back in the mid-2000s. It’s one of those pieces that always made me feel so special. Now, I can’t recall why I got rid of it, but it was about time to add a new pleated piece to my wardrobe. This pink pleated dress is definitely a piece I will break out any time I want to feel pretty.

Do you ever find a piece of clothing and then realize it’s clearly a trend? I didn’t realize how popular a yellow midi dress was for spring until I started looking. It seems now that every way I turn I see another store selling a yellow dress. I recently got this marigold yellow silk dress and instantly fell in love. If you’re looking for a bold statement to add to your spring wardrobe a marigold dress might be the way to go.

Memorial Day fashion, but make it chic. I’m definitely a fan of wearing dresses that are special holiday-appropriate, without wearing something that screams the American flag. This striped cold shoulder dress is the perfect way to nod to the holiday without screaming ‘Merica. There are lots of reasons I love a cold shoulder dress for spring and summer, but here are 3 reasons.

I recently got this bright blue pleated dress for an upcoming trip. I thought it would be so photogenic against the old city. But I also realized this is the perfect addition to my wardrobe because this dress is quite versatile. This dress will look great styled in at least a few ways. If you’ve thought about looking for pleated dresses for women, read on to see why I chose this one and how I would style it in three ways.

The sweetheart neckline has been around for centuries and has remained a popular choice for dresses and tops. This style features a curved neckline that dips down in the center, resembling the shape of a heart. The sweetheart neckline was first popularized in the 16th century and has since undergone several transformations, making it a versatile choice for fashion lovers.

Denim is one of the hottest trends for spring. I’m absolutely loving the resurgence of denim everything. Of course, denim has been popular for many years, but the denim on denim trend only comes and goes. This year, the more denim, the better. I recently found this long denim vest or long denim jacket and I absolutely love it.

A slip skirt is a classic fashion staple that has been popular for decades. These skirts are incredibly versatile, and you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion. There is a slip skirt for every style and preference. In this blog post, I’ll talk about the different styles available, how to style them, and why they should be a must-have item in your wardrobe.

I’m heading to Greece this week, so I’ve been doing a lot of summer shopping to revamp my wardrobe. This Palazzo pants set made the cut. Even though I styled it by adding a see-through tank over the top, the top underneath matches with the pants. I chose to wear the other tank on top because the matching top is really revealing, more like a bralette than an actual top.

When it comes to timeless fashion pieces that combine comfort and style, crochet sweaters take the lead. With their intricate patterns, warm textures, and versatile designs, crochet sweaters have earned a special place in every fashionista’s wardrobe. From classic crochet cardigans to trendy chunky crochet sweaters, these garments offer endless possibilities for creating a chic and cozy look.

Let’s talk about a wardrobe staple that’s as versatile as it is stylish: the floral maxi dress. I love this new purple floral maxi dress I got (on sale) because the colors work so well for fall and winter. But, it can easily transition into a spring staple. In this post, I’ll discuss floral maxi dresses and share ideas for how to rock them in every season.

There’s something about a floral dress that just feels right—no matter the season, no matter the occasion. Whether you’re slipping into a white floral dress for a beach wedding or dressing up a floral midi dress for a spring brunch, florals bring a feminine, fresh, and effortlessly put-together vibe to any look.

I finally did it—I went to Coachella for the first time! And let me tell you, it was everything: beautiful sunsets, incredible performances, and yes… plenty of logistical headaches. If you’re planning your first trip, this Coachella survival guide will give you an honest, firsthand look at what to expect, what to bring, where to stay, and how to enjoy the weekend without losing your mind—or your money. I hope this Coachella survival guide will help you navigate whether this is your first or 5th time attending.

A floral midi dress might sound like a warm weather staple, but it is one of the most versatile pieces you can wear year round. I wore this dress on New Year’s Eve, and it quickly became one of those pieces I kept reaching for again and again. It works just as well for a winter wedding, a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, or even a dressy daytime event when styled the right way.

My kids are almost at that age where they aren’t going to be willing to do mommy and me outfits much longer. So, I’m going to make the most of it while they are still game to pose with me. The other day, I was at Target and found so many cute mommy and me fashion looks, so I had to snag this floral set. To be honest, the matching floral dress looks horrible on me, so I opted for this pink dress that still matched their look without being identical.
