When I noticed the Kardashians rocking biker shorts a couple of seasons ago, I really didn’t think it was a trend I’d get on. Honestly, my thighs have always been an area of my body I try to hide. They are big and they are wide, so I usually opt for flowy a-line dresses or slimming black pants, instead. But this summer I decided it was time to finally try the biker shorts trend. I shared 3 ideas for how to style biker shorts on my TikTok account, so I thought I’d share them here as well.

Curvy girls can, in fact, wear biker shorts. Its taken me many years to embrace my thicker frame, but I’ve slowly come to realize that wearing more form-fitting clothing is actually more flattering than hiding behind flowy things. It’s taken me time to see that my hourglass shape and curvy thighs are actually beautiful. It’s funny to admit, but I am glad that our society has come to a place where we do value curvy girls more than the waify look of the past. I always thought I should be thinner, but with the shift in our society to be more accepting of a curvier shape, so have I slowly started to accept it.

Biker shorts are just another way for me to embrace my figure. If you’re a curvier girl, or you’ve been avoiding biker shorts, I hope this post helps you. To be honest, I’ve been avoiding wearing shorts most of my life. I talked more about that in this post. I’m sharing 3 ideas for how to style biker shorts so you can see just how versatile they can be.
For the first look, I decided to pair the biker shorts with a tattered denim jacket, a plain white tee, and classic white sneakers. This is a total on-the-go weekend look that is great for running errands or playing with my kids.
The second look is a bit dressier. I topped a beige cami with a see-through lace top and threw on some strappy heels and carried a little pink bag. If I wore this out, I’d probably also top the look with a sleek blazer jacket. I tend to always wear jackets since LA nights get cool. Plus, I love how jackets complete a look.
As for the third look, this is also something I’d wear most days or even day-to-night. It’s just a simple t-shirt with some studded black sandals and my favorite biker jacket. This look could easily transition to a happy hour if I changed out my shoes.
