When I saw this colorblock high low dress, I was fairly confident it wouldn’t look that cute on me. But, I had to try it anyway, because I really loved the ruffle shoulders, high-low hem detail, and the interesting color choices in the colorblock. Since I ordered it online, I didn’t feel that much pressure about whether it would work for me. I order things online all the time, and I return probably 90% of the items. I don’t take the process personally, because I know it’s hard to find the perfect fit or style without first trying it on. That’s why I actually love shopping online. It takes the pressure off of finding things because it’s as easy to just return the items that don’t work.

This high low dress is so fun because it has so much movement and it’s super breathable for summer. My particular dress, I probably should have ordered another size down. It’s still quite roomie, but I do love how it moves when I walk. This particular dress probably could work well as a high low maternity dress, if you’re in the market for maternity outfits. I’m not having more kids, but I do still find myself drawn to pieces that worked for when I was pregnant and when I wasn’t. There was something I enjoyed so much about the versatility of the pieces. 

As for styling, I would definitely suggest you wear high heels or wedges with your high low dress. Because the back is so long, I personally think this dress would love rather frumpy with flats on. Plus, the whole benefit of a high low dress is to show off your legs. There is no better way to show off legs than with high heels. My heels are stacked at the front and have a criss-cross ankle strap, so they are super comfortable while also giving me the height I need. 

I also opted to add some jewelry and a fun cross-body bag for some fun details. I threw on a few gold and ivory bangles along with some chunky raffia earrings. Overall, I think high low dresses are a great wardrobe addition because they are versatile. They can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the occasion. I love pieces that work in multiple ways, and I think these dresses do.
