One of my favorite clothing options in the fall and winter are sweater dresses. I love them because they come in so many different shapes, colors, styles and fits. You can find bodycon black sweater dresses, like the one I’m wearing, or much flowier sweater dresses, like this check-print one and this ribbed one I wore a few seasons ago.

I recently got this black sweater from Shein and I love it for a few reasons. First, I adore the slit on the side. It’s not too high or revealing but does show off just a smidge of leg. I also love that it has a tie waist to really show off my curves. Plus, this black sweater dress has a deep v-neck, which is ultra-elongating and slimming when paired with the tie waist.

This dress is the perfect combination of sexy and subtle. The long sleeves really balance out the v-neck and the slit, while providing enough coverage perfect for winter.

As for styling, this dress could totally be a day dress or a night out dress, depending on what you wear with it. I opted for stiletto booties, a classic vintage Chanel camera bag, big black sunnies, and hoop earrings. My look skews more daytime, but definitely transitions to a happy hour or dinner setting. If you did want to wear this for night time look, I would suggest you wear strappy high heels, way more jewelry, and a smaller, more delicate handbag.
