When you think of summer, you probably don’t think of summer sweater dresses. You’re right, sweaters and summer don’t usually go together. But, I think sweater dresses are great in the summer for a lot of reasons.

First, summer sweater dresses are actually much more light weigh that you might think. Most of them have short sleeves or are sleeveless. The material is knit, but still fairly light weight, so it doesn’t feel like a bulky sweater you’d wear in the fall or winter.

I also love the versatility of sweater dresses because they can actually work year-round. Even if you have a sleeveless sweater dress, you can throw a blazer or sweater over the top for fall or spring. In the winter, throw on some tights or leggings and a jacket, and you’re good.

It’s one of those clothing items that you really can wear year-round. I also love how many different styles you can find. There are ones with stripes, solid colors, and fun prints. Also, there are just a lot of fun options that make it a staple item you should add to your closet.

Some of the sweater dresses are sheath style, some are more fit and flare, some are body-con, and some are more a-line. If you’ve been afraid to try sweater dresses, you really can find a sweater dress that will work for your body type. It’s definitely a summer trend that works for most women.

I love this dress for a couple reasons. First, the black and white checked print is striking, but also classic. This dress is really perfect for when I have a professional work meeting. I usually would wear a black or white blazer over the top for a meeting. Then, I’d take it off for the rest of my work day.
