The reason I love saddle bag purses for traveling is because the cross-body strap gives me a hands-free and arms-free option, in case I need to stop to look at a map or snap a quick selfie in front of an important landmark.  Also, many of the saddle bag purses are roomie enough to hold my essentials, while not so heavy that they will weigh me down as I’m walking all over the cities I’ll be exploring.

My initial obsession with saddle bag purses started a few weeks ago when I spotted this Sancia saddle bag at a new local boutique in Phoenix. I am torn between the Sancia one and this Madewell saddle bag — mostly because of price. I’ve seen the Sancia one in person, and love its unique look with the cross-bar and the mix of suede and leather. I’m going to check out the Madewell one in person before deciding, as I love the front detail on the Madewell bag, and it seems like a great deal at under $175!
