Practical or Posh: Wool Military Coats
Military inspired clothing is a mainstay in the fashion world. Nearly every season, you can find touches of military inspiration. Military styles were all over the spring 2015 runways, but you can get this style now.
I love a wool military coats for fall for several reasons. The style is classic, structured, and figure flattering. The structured shoulders and tie waist define your shape. The belt adds a feminine touch to an otherwise more masculine coat. The army green color also acts as a neutral color, so it can blend with almost anything in your wardrobe.
The two wool military coats I chose will define your waist, give your shoulders definition, and come in neutral army green. The Balmain coat features gold tone lion-embossed buttons, storm guards, a wide lapel and padded shoulders. The structured shoulders and tie waist add a distinctly feminine touch to an otherwise strong and masculine coat. At over 90% less, the Patrizia Pepe coat also has strong shoulders and a tie waist, but not nearly as many seams or details as the Balmain coat.
The dramatic price difference most likely is due to brand, construction, and materials used. Both options would be a great choice to add a structured coat to your fall wardrobe that will work just as well for work as for weekends.
Balmain – $3867
Patrizia Pepe – $318
