A Christmas List for Santa
Santa, baby…
Did you ever mail a Christmas list for Santa? I sure did. I see no good reason why I should give up hope that he’ll bring me cool stuff now that I’m an adult. So, even though I could be on the naughty list, what do I have to lose? Santa, if you read chick blogs, feel free to place any of these items under my tree. My closet and I thank you.
1. Gold Initial Necklace
Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw introduced us to displaying your name around your neck with her famous gold “Carrie” necklace. Since then, I’ve been searching for a subtle way to embrace that look. Bianca Pratt does it right with her dainty and modern gold chain initial necklaces. I can envision this necklace being as much a staple in my jewelry wardrobe as my diamond studs. Bianca Pratt Necklace – $235
2. Ostrich Tote
I’ve been lusting after various versions of this bag since I visited Bergdorf’s in NYC back in August. It is by far my favorite bag of the year. The shape is so unique, I love the elephant gray color and I adore the ostrich texture. Akris Ai Ostrich Tote – $4800
3. Winter White Tweed and Lace Dress
Oscar De La Renta’s dresses are the epitome of femininity and elegance. I am obsessed with the contrast of the winter white tweed and guipure eyelet lace hem. This dress just feels so special, I know I would long to wear it every week. Oscar De La Renta Dress – $3190
4. Leather and Suede Booties
I happened upon these boots via a Pinterest pin, and immediately fell in love with the unique textures and contrast he’s created by using suede, leather and nubuck. The stacked heel and side zip give these boots an edgy vibe I would love to showcase against my otherwise girly wardrobe. Matt Bernson Boots – $304
5. Leather Panel Cardigan
I’m a sucker for cardigans. They are a wardrobe staple that I layer over dresses or pair with jeans and a casual t-shirt. Thakoon’s version would become a standout in my cardigan collection because it is much more modern and stylish with its leather panels, than any other cardigan I own. Thakoon Leather Panel Cardigan – $990
6. Bow Heels
My high heel wearing days have been replaced with flats and wedge booties. Motherhood calls for practicality in footwear, most days. Aminah Abdul Jillih’s red bow pumps remind me of my once feverish obsession with shoes and their beauty. The bold color and eye-catching bow would make my (very rare) date nights extra special. Aminah Abdul Jillih Pumps – $195
7. Laser Cut Leather Jacket
Hardly any piece of clothing is as important as a versatile jacket that works for both day and evening. I love leather for that reason because it can be dressy, while still being edgy. Muubaa’s version is my new obsession because the laser cut details give a feminine vibe I often miss in biker jackets. Muubaa Tureis Laser-Cut Biker Jacket – $819
8. Gold Diamond Baguette Ring
I found Claire Kinder through Catbird NYC, and was immediately mesmerized by her baguette bateau rings, which come in white, yellow and rose gold. Baguettes are underrated; I am partial to them because they line my wedding band. I would love to own a couple of Claire’s rings to finally join the ring-stacking trend. A girl can dream! Claire Kinder Ring – $2000
