Nails

You won’t catch me dressing up for holidays like the 4th of July (read: American flag printed shorts or top). For me, those ultra loud themed-prints feel strange and so dated. But I still like to feel patriotic. I decided to create a super easy patriotic nail art tutorial as a way to show my patriotism without actually looking like a flag.

Last week, I was in Boston for work. It’s very rare that I have several nights in a row to myself, so I hardly knew what to do with myself. I can only watch bad TV for so long. A few days before I left, I was scrolling through my suggestions on IG and I found some really cool custom nail art. Upon further inspection, I learned the nail artist was actually located in Boston.

Do you do Christmas nails or holiday nail art? I generally don’t do much in the way of nail art, but every now and then, I do like to change it up. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, I went in for a fresh gel mani/pedi. I stayed away from nail salons for the first 6 months of quarantine, but have since returned because I do love the longevity of gel manicures.

I’ve gotten more into nail art over the last few years. Lately, I’m really loving the modern french manicure trend. It is so popular for spring, and I hope this is a trend that stays. It’s an easy way to enter the nail art space if you’re not ready for major designs or bejeweled nails. Yet, it’s modern and goes with everything.

I’m normally a red or pink manicure kinda gal. Lately, I’ve been stepping outside of my comfort zone and recently tried a green color. The color is somewhere between army green and forest green nails. It did take me some getting used to, but I actually really loved the whole vibe of the fall green nails. If you’re interested in trying out something new, I’m here to share some green nail ideas you might want to try.

As the weather warms up and flowers start to bloom, it’s time to shake off the winter blues and embrace the vibrant spirit of spring. And what better way to welcome the new season than with a fresh manicure? Spring is all about embracing colors, florals, and playful designs, making it the perfect time to experiment with your nails.

The beauty world is having a minimalist moment—and short nails are leading the way. While long acrylics have their place, short nails are the go-to choice for anyone who wants something functional, polished, and effortlessly chic. And if you’re into clean, soft-glam styles, princess nails are the ultimate inspo.
