Spooky Halloween Brownies: Easy Steps for How to Make Them

This Halloween brownies post is sponsored by Betty Crocker. All opinions are my own.

It’s spooky season and we’re gearing up for one of my favorite holidays. I absolutely love Halloween and all of the festive treats that go along with it. I’m so excited to show you how to create these adorable and yummy spooky Halloween brownies in less than an hour (including baking time!).

Although I do love to create homemade desserts, I often don’t have the time to do scratch-baking. I’m sure all the busy moms out there can relate. But you can still create really delicious and creative semi-homemade desserts right at home. That’s actually why I love to keep Betty Crocker products on hand because these products make it so much easier.

To make these spooky brownies, you’ll need a box of Betty Crocker brownie mix, one jar of Betty Crocker frosting, and Betty Crocker Candy Eyeballs. You might also want food coloring to change the frosting colors, so check out Betty Crocker Gel Food Color.

Once you have all of your ingredients, you’ll want to bake the brownies according to package instructions. But you can add your own flair to make these Halloween brownies as unique as you want. I added in some chocolate chips to the batter to add even more delicious chocolatey flavor. If you haven’t tried lining your brownie pan with parchment paper yet, this is a great way to make the brownie removal a breeze. I like to spray the pan with cooking spray first and then add the parchment paper to the bottom of the pan. I leave the side long enough so you can easily lift out the brownies once they cool in the pan for a bit.

If you’re in a rush, you can stick your brownies in the refrigerator to cool quicker. You want your brownies to be room temperature before you add the monster/ghost frosting. If you want your monsters/ghosts to be different colors, this would be the time to split up the frosting into separate bowls and add the desired amount of food coloring until you get the color you desire.

Once your brownies are cool, you can use a piping bag, small spoon or knife to create little ghost/monster shapes. These do not need to be perfect! They can be all different sizes and there is no specific way you need to space them. Once you have all your ghosts/monsters on the brownies, then you can add the eyeballs however you want.

Cut and serve as desired! That’s it; it’s that simple to make these cute spooky brownies this Halloween. You can find the original recipe and links to all of the products I used here.

Spooky Halloween Brownies

Ingredients:

Betty Crocker Delights Supreme Triple Chunk Brownie Mix
1 Egg
1/3 Cup of Vegetable Oil
1 Container of Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
Betty Crocker Gel Food Color
Betty Crocker Candy Eyeballs
Parchment Paper
8×8 Brownie Pan

Directions:

Preheat your oven to package directions, depending on your pan. Line your pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Then, mix the egg, oil, water, and brownie mix in a bowl until combined. Pour into your prepared pan and bake according to package directions.

Once your brownies are cool, remove from the pan. Next, separate your frosting into two bowls and add the food coloring of your choice to each of the bowls. Using a spoon, knife or piping bag, add frosting in your desired monster/ghost shapes to the brownies. Top each of the shapes with 1-3 eyeballs, depending on how you want your monsters/ghosts to look.

Cut and enjoy! Store in an airtight container.
