If you’ve followed my blog for any period of time, you know I love dresses, especially sweater dresses. They are one of my wardrobe favorites for fall and winter. I recently got this bodycon midi sweater dress that I think is the absolute perfect addition to my fall wardrobe because it works so well for work and also for a night out.

I love sweater dresses for several reasons. First, they are very flattering to my figure. I often choose ones that are more fitted, like this one. Or, I look for sweater dresses that have belts at the waist to create that hourglass shape. This printed midi dress has extra visual interest at the neckline. I also love that it’s a black printed dress with an interesting visual design.
I’ve owned a black bodycon midi dress in the past. I actually have one with a prominent zipper that’s really fun. When I choose to add a new long black sweater dress to my wardrobe, I make sure it has something that really sets it apart. That’s why I’m so in love with this dress. There are so many things about it that make it visually more interesting than your standard black sweater dress.
The best feature of this dress is that it really does work perfectly for work or for happy hour or even a holiday party. For a work look, I would pair this dress with classic black pumps and either a cropped or long black blazer. To make it an evening look, I simply paired it with a classic black quilted clutch and strappy black heels.
