The Slit Sleeve Dress: 3 Reasons Why It’s a Beloved Wardrobe Winner

It’s been a long time since I had an excuse to wear a nicer dress. To be honest, reentering the world in dressier clothes has felt a bit odd. I am so used to rocking my sweats, it’s been quite the transition. That’s why I adore this black slit sleeve dress because it’s made of cotton and completely stretchy! It’s so comfortable and so easy to wear, while still looking very put together, maybe even dressy.

3 Reasons I Love this Slit Sleeve Dress

There are 3 major reasons why I love this long sleeve black maxi dress. First, it is majorly comfortable. The material has total give, yet it still is form fitting for a really flattering fit. The dress is also made of a material that won’t show a lot of wrinkles. That makes this a great dress for traveling. It would pack down very small and it won’t wrinkle, so it’s perfect if you want to take a nicer (yet comfortable) dress on a trip with you.

The next reason I love this dress is because of the sleeve slits. I think the sleeves with slits make this dress so much more interesting than if it was just a regular long sleeve black dress. The third reason I absolutely love this slit sleeve dress is because of the extra details.  The faux leather tie at the neck creates a cool keyhole effect. I also love the way the front drapes and creates a faux wrap feel.

This long sleeve dress with arm slits is such a fun wardrobe addition for the fall. The weather is turning cooler, so having a long-sleeve dress is perfect, without having to wear a jacket or other layers. As for styling this black dress, I chose really simple options. I added a simple black kitten heel. I didn’t want my shoes to compete with the dress.

Although it’s black, it’s not at all plain. There are so many fun details on this dress, I didn’t want to distract with fancy heels or a statement bag. I opted for a simple black quilted clutch that would hold my essentials. Normally, I love to wear a pop of color in my bag when I wear a black dress. But this time, I wanted to keep it simple so the dress is really the star of this look. I did add just a bit of color on my lips.

Overall, I’m so glad I found this great black slit sleeve dress for fall. I think it’s such a fun way to transition back into wearing nicer clothes while still feeling very comfortable. If you’re looking for other fall fashion, click here. If you want more black dresses, click here.
