This was my first trip to Denver. I visited Boulder when I was a child, but that was a long time ago. When my friend XOXO Terri told me she was heading to Denver, I asked her if I could meet her there. Our friend, the Travel Mom, suggested we stay at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center. Thankfully, the Gaylord Rockies in Denver agreed to host us.

When I first arrived at the hotel, I was mesmerized by the scale of the place. The hotel is located just 15 minutes from the airport. It’s a quick drive and the hotel offers ample self-parking. The Resort is set in an up and coming area so it still feels pretty rural. It’s located just about 20-30 minutes from downtown Denver, so its a quick drive into the city. The best part about this hotel is that you actually don’t ever have to leave! They have everything that you need right at the hotel. They offer 4 restaurants and a few other dining options, including a market that serves Starbucks, and in-room dining too.

The Gaylord Rockies Resort also has 2 massive pools and a lazy river. There is a large indoor pool with two water slides. I went on both slides. Both were a ton of fun but the white one was so fast, I even scared myself. The outdoor pool has a gorgeous infinity edge and also a rock slide. They also have several hot tubs, one of which is for adults-only. I spent quite a lot of time at the outdoor pool because it was such a gorgeous pool with lots of cabanas and also a great view of the city and the Rockies.

This is my first time in Denver and I’m so glad we chose to stay at the @gaylordrockies – the resort is seriously magical. They have a giant indoor pool with water slides, a gorgeous outdoor infinity pool also with a rock slide, the coolest indoor decor, like this historical train, waterfalls and so much more. They also have several really delicious restaurants. Check out my stories highlight for more Denver moments! . Huge thank you to @thetravelmom for connecting us to this gorgeous resort. . 🚂 📸 @terrimchugh . #hostedby #gaylordrockies #denver #denvercolorado #hosted #travelblogger #travelwithme #travelblog #igreels #instagramreels #reelstravel #travelvideo

Beyond the pools, the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver also offers mini-golf, basketball and tennis courts, a mini arcade, and this neat historical train in the atrium area. It is definitely a kid-friendly resort. My kids were pretty jealous when they found out their mom was playing on water slides without them. In the atrium area, they also have a bar and a little stand where they serve pretzels and beer. The apricot beer is really delicious, by the way. Just outside of the atrium, at the back of the property, there are fire pits and lounge chairs.

I dined at the Italian restaurant, ordered room service, and bought food to-go at the market inside of the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver. All of my in-hotel dining experiences were positive ones. I wish I had more time to try the other restaurants in there, as I’m confident they would all be delicious.

Beyond the amazing restaurants, the resort also has a fantastic spa, called the Relâche spa. I got the 50-minute relief and recovery massage which combines the plentiful benefits of custom bodywork and plant therapy in one session by harnessing the anti-inflammatory properties of organic hemp-derived cbd. My massage therapist, Alex, also added the hot stones, which was so lovely. It was one of the best massages I’ve had in years. Alex really listened to my needs and provided a really amazing massage.

The Gaylord Rockies also does it right at Christmas time. While I was there, they had some of their decorations up, including the giant ornament and Christmas lights out front. I can imagine the hotel looks so amazing during the holidays, so if you have a chance to visit sometime soon, I’d highly encourage it. Overall, we had the most amazing time at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver. It is a really magical hotel with so much to do right on site! If you get the chance to visit yourself, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

A note about COVID at Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver.

I traveled to the Gaylord Rockies in November 2020 during the COVID pandemic. The Gaylord Rockies took every precaution to ensure our well-being. Masks are required at all times, except while seated to eat and while swimming. The hotel limits the number of people in all spaces to ensure proper social distancing. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the hotel. My room also included additional hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes. When you arrive, your room will be cleaned to the new COVID standards. During your stay, they will only enter to clean your room upon request and your room must be empty for them to clean.
