As I dug through the archives, I was shocked to find I haven’t posted about a denim jacket since 2015 when I came back from Italy! It’s shocking to me, because in my wardrobe, denim jackets are a staple. Right before quarantine started, I found this tie dye denim jacket, and I’m so glad I have it in my jacket collection.
Denim jackets are a wardrobe staple that I think every woman (and man) should have. They literally go with so many things and add the perfect layer on cooler days or nights. I own 3 different denim jackets in different washes. One is light with custom painting, one is medium/dark solid denim, and I recently added this tie dye denim jacket to the mix. I also recently ordered a black denim jacket that should be arriving any day. To say I have a bit of a jacket obsession, would be an understatement. I own a lot of jackets because they are so necessary in California. Even on the warmer days, by nighttime, I always need a layer. Demin jackets are the perfect summer/fall layer. They are warm, but not too bulky. They also go with so many things.
I chose to style this tie dye denim jacket with a really feminine look. I like the juxtaposition of the super feminine with the edgier jacket. This jacket looks equally great with sweats and a t, or over black denim and a tank. I do wear this jacket quite often because I also love the cropped sleeves and hip-hitting length.
I actually sized down on this jacket (I’m wearing a medium) so that it would give me a more fitted look. As for the rest of the look, I’m wearing a sleeveless polka-dot dress with a tie waist. I love this dress because of its fitted style and in vibrant red color. I paired the look with some simple strappy white sandals, my favorite, ever-classic quilted red bag, and a pair of chunky gold earrings.
If you haven’t gotten a denim jacket lately, you should definitely check out my favorite tie dye denim jackets. They are majorly on-trend for fall, and they really do make a great summer and fall layer.
