How to Make an Easy Apple Crumble
Stacey shares a super easy apple crumble recipe that anyone can make. This recipe is super simple for even the most novice baker.
Ingredients
- For the Apple Filling:
- 2 pounds apples, peeled, cored and chopped into approximately 1/2-inch chunks (about 4 cups)
- A squeeze of lemon juice
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon table salt
- For the Crumble:
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine diced apples with lemon juice and mix. Then add sugar, spices, and corn starch. Pour into a 9-inch square baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine crumble ingredients. Use hands to combine butter until crumbly and sprinkle over top of apple mixtures. Press lightly.
- Bake in a 375-degree oven for 40-50 minutes, until bubbly, caramelized and golden brown on top. Enjoy warm with a scoop of ice cream!
