Are you heading anywhere for spring break? I’m heading to Huntington Beach next weekend, so I’m already planning my wardrobe in my head. Long flowy dresses, like this striped maxi dress, are definitely on the list. I have some archive photos from our trip to Turks and Caicos, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite striped maxi dresses with you.
This maxi was so perfect on my trip to Turks and Caicos because it’s lightweight and super flowy. I also thought the pastel colors looked so beautiful against the turquoise waters.
To style this dress, I chose to wear my hair up with a cute pearl-studded headband. I chose to wear my hair up because one of the cutest parts of this dress is the off-the-shoulder vibe and the cute tassels and ruffles at the top of the dress.
Although I wasn’t able to find a dress just like the one I am wearing, I did link to many other cute striped maxi dresses. The best part of the dresses I chose is that they are all totally affordable and will be great for spring break or to wear this summer.
If you do go for a striped maxi dress this spring, I’d definitely suggest you wear your hair up. Not only to show off the cool neckline, like mine, but becuase you don’t need any additional bulk to add to a long dress. I personally think having your hair up helps show off the dress while still allowing some open space to see some skin. I’d also wear strappy heels or sandals so that you are breaking up all of that material. Normally, I’d wear pretty high heels that show a lot of foot and ankle. Heels add length and height to the whole look. I happened to wear sandals when these photos were taken since we also went to the beach for the shoot.
Personally, I think a striped maxi dress is a must for your spring and summer wardrobe. It’s such a lightweight and easy piece to wear for almost any occasion. My dress could work equally well to run around town or wear out at night with the right heels. If you’re interested in maxi dresses, here are some of my favorites and they are all under $30.
