Here is How to Style a Ribbed Midi Dress

I’ve always been a fan of sweater dresses. I personally find they are very flattering, super cozy, and great for fall or winter. When I saw this red ribbed midi dress, I knew I had to order it.

The first thing I noticed about this dress is the color. Red and burgundy look good with my olive skin tone. Also, I love the bright jewel-tone colors for fall and winter.

I also love that this dress has a wide scoop neck that also scoops in the back. The open neck is sexy without showing too much skin. You could even wear this dress off of one shoulder if you wanted to try that for another look.

The texture of this dress is thick but not heavy. I like that it’s a bit thicker because that’s why I think sweater dresses are so flattering. Unlike other body-skimming silhouettes, this ribbed dress hugs my curves but also camouflages any bumps and lumps I don’t really like.

How to Style a Ribbed Midi Dress

When deciding how to style this dress, I knew I wanted to wear a jacket over it. I tried wearing it with and without the jacket, and I actually prefer it with the jacket. I think the cropped biker jacket I chose is the perfect pairing for a couple of reasons. First, it breaks up the long midi length of the dress. With one bright color, it really helped to break it up with a jacket.

The other good thing about this biker jacket is that it adds some edge to a really pretty and feminine-shaped dress. I love how different the look is with and without the jacket. It makes the dress even more versatile.

You should also wear heels with a midi dress length. Since the dress is long, you need to add height to make your legs look longer. I also opted for a nude/brown heel which also makes my legs look longer.
