A couple weeks ago, my parents were in town. They love to visit botanical gardens, so we decided to check out the South Coast Botanic Garden. There are several different Los Angeles Botanic gardens, but this one was the closest to where my parents were staying, so we decided to check it out.

The botanic garden is located in the Palos Verdes peninsula in lovely Southern California. Its located near the Rolling Hills Estates. The drive to the garden is pretty, and if you have some time after you visit, you should head down to Rancho Palos Verdes or San Pedro, where there are gorgeous views of the coast and the flower-lined cliffs.

When we arrived, we found the admission to the gardens was totally reasonable. As we walked through the entrance, we happened upon some women doing yoga. I can’t think of a more calm place to do yoga. It was so very peaceful among all of the gorgeous flowering trees.

I actually wish I had thought about packing a lunch to enjoy on one of the benches or the vast grounds. We also could have spent more time reading about all of the different plants and trees, but opted to focus on seeing as much as we could.
