You Need an A-Line Utility Dress in Your Wardrobe Now

A couple weeks ago, I went shopping for a few new outfits for an upcoming work event. I found this military-inspired, army green utility dress, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I’ve always been into military-inspired pieces. I happen to love the army green color and the extra pockets you often find with this style. I’m also such a sucker for an a-line dress with a belted waist.

Although I don’t love sleeveless dresses, this one is absolutely perfect for summer. It also fits me just right. The belt at the waist helps to define my figure and the v-neck is so elongating. It’s the perfect casual dress for summer.

The material is also a bit stiff, which I think will travel really well and also hold up. One thing I hate about most of the summer dresses I have, is that they end up pilling. I hate when my clothes wear unevenly, and have pilling. I have a feeling this dress will be a staple in my wardrobe for awhile.

Another nice thing about this utility dress is that the length is long enough so that I can wear it to wear to work with a little white blazer. This sheath dress can also work for weekend casual with flat sandals and a cardigan or for a night out with a leather jacket and some high heels. I love the versatility of this dress.

If you’re not crazy about utility or military-inspired pieces, I think you just might not have found the right piece yet. You can find military-inspiration in jackets, pants, and dresses. I personally love the extra pockets, hardware and buttons, and classic colors that you can find with military pieces. That’s definitely what drew me to this dress first – the metal buttons and the thick belt.

If you are on the hunt for a military-inspired dress this spring, here are some of my current favorites – including mine, which is on sale!
