This is Why I Love a Grey Leather Moto Jacket

Last month, I asked you all what you wanted to see more from me. Several of you mentioned you wanted to see more of my casual, everyday style. So here you go. This is a standard look I would wear basically every day. This grey moto jacket is a staple I’ve had in my wardrobe for a couple years now. I throw it on anytime I want to look a bit more put together, but still casual chic.

My casual wardrobe is usually some version of this. You’ll find me in a pair of of skinny jeans, booties, a sweater or sweatshirt, a big ‘ole purse, and a leather jacket. I wear this look (or a very similar one) on the weekends, and after work. I love this look because it’s ultra comfortable, but yet, looks nicer than sweats or leggings.

Although I totally get why people wear sweats and leggings as part of their casual wardrobe, for me, it’s just too casual. On a rare occasion, I’ll wear sweats to go to the grocery store or to run another small errand. But you’ll hardly ever see me in something so casual on a daily basis. I personally just think sweats can look so frumpy and even sloppy.

My caveat to this rule is the fact that leggings have come a long way. Leggings now can be super chic. I’ve noticed a lot of girls in my feed wearing faux leather leggings, for example. Those look dressy. Those look sleek and put-together. I’m totally behind stylish leggings. I think I’m more against those leggings that are just basic black cotton. To me, they are boring and can often look faded or stretched out. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but more of a generalization.

To me, most of the time, jean just look better than leggings. But this is just a generalization and personal opinion. I love to top my jeans with this grey moto jacket for a few reasons. First, it’s fitted, so it looks pulled together. Second, the leather, stitching and hardware show the quality of the piece. Moreover, grey leather seriously goes with everything. I can wear black shoes, brown shoes, colored shoes, or even sneakers, and it goes.

If you’re looking to add a grey leather moto jacket to your closet, here are some of my current favorites.
