Why I’m Wearing This Black Long Sleeve Midi Dress For Valentine’s Day
What are you wearing for Valentine’s Day? Is it red? Is it strappy or strapless? Does it show a lot of skin? Not that there’s anything wrong with showing skin, but have you ever worn a completely covered up dress and felt just as sexy as if you’re showing a lot of skin? I have. That’s exactly why I’m planning to wear this long sleeve black midi dress this Valentine’s Day.
I’m not here to dissuade you from wearing your red, skin-showing dresses. Not at all. You should definitely wear what makes you feel amazing and what you like. The thing I like so much about this dress is that, is that it completely shifted my perspective on what is sexy and what makes me feel sexy.
Normally, for Valentine’s Day, I’d wear something totally different. I’d opt for something that has a deep v – to show a little cleavage, or something super strappy and revealing. When I found this dress, I initially just thought it would be a fun dress to wear to work or on the weekends. See, it’s super comfortable in stretch jersey. But what’s completely unexpected about this dress, is that it actually makes me feel really beautiful. It hugs all of my curves, and the red stripes at the waist really show off my hour glass figure.

I also love that this dress can be totally dressed up, by adding a gorgeous red bag and strappy black heels. Throwing on vibrant red lipstick not only ups the sexy factor, but also feels very Valentine’s Day.
The amazing thing about this dress is how easily it can go from night out, to weekend chic. It can be way dressed down, if I throw on a pair of sneakers and wear my hair in a ponytail. It really gives off a sporty vibe when I style it that way.
Although this dress is versatile, I’m really loving it for a night out. It’s figure-flattering, it’s very striking with the red stripes, but it’s also completely covered. I just love when I find clothes that challenges what I thought I could or should wear. I like that this dress pushed me to try something more tight-fitting, but yet, totally comfortable. The fact that you can be and feel sexy, even in a completely covered up look, was a bit surprising for me. If you don’t think you can be covered up and still look sexy, I hope you’ll reconsider. If you still prefer to show a lot of skin, by all means, go for it. But I also want to show you that you don;’t have to show all your goods to still look and feel amazing.
If you’re looking for other covered-up, yet totally sexy options, here are some of my favorites. Happy Valentine’s Day!
