My Love for this Jacquard Dress was Very Surprising

If you had asked me if I could wear a jacquard dress, I would have said no. I would have thought the knit material would cling to the areas I try to hide. I never thought a jacquard dress would hang right on me. Well, as I’ve said before, you’ve gotta try everything to know what works on you. This dress is now one of my favorites in my closet.

I know it works on me too because my husband actually told me how much he loves this dress. Don’t get me wrong, he compliments me often, but he hardly ever notices specific articles of clothing. He notices if I have new shoes or if I’ve changed my hair. He hardly ever notices when I wear something new.

I think this dress works on my curvy frame because it is a fit and flair style. Although it is a knit material, it accentuates my smaller waist and floats away from my hips. This dress is almost perfect. I only wish it were about 3 inches longer. I prefer dresses that hit me right at the knee, but this one is still totally work-appropriate.

I chose to style the dress with bright patterned shoes in a similar checked pattern. I also threw on a statement necklace with blue stones and carried a vibrant red clutch. You might think the choice of shoes and purse are a bit odd. However, I thought the dress needed some bright colors, especially in the summer time.

The thing I love most about this dress is I’m sure it’s going to work well in fall too. I can envision throwing on some tights and booties and wearing this to the office with a little blazer or cardigan. If you’re interested in trying out a jacquard dress, I’ve selected some of my favorites this season. Or if you like mine, you can get it on sale right now.

Thank you, Rox-Anne! I was so unsure, but the fit and flare does work so well on lots of body shapes.
