Simple Triangle Nail Art Tutorial

By Stacey Freeman 1 Comment

simple-triangle-nail-art-tutorial-08I really like when my nails are painted, but I hardly ever have time to go to a nail salon for a proper manicure. I wanted a fun manicure for spring, so I created this simple triangle nail art tutorial.

This tutorial is based on this picture I found on Pinterest. I decided to add more colors because I wanted even more pastel colors for a fun spring manicure.

If you don’t like the colors I chose, you could easily swap out the blue and green for shades of pink or white for a simpler look. Below are my simple steps for your own triangle nail art tutorial.

Simple Triangle Nail Art Tutorial

You Need:

Base and Top Coat Polish (I used Diamond Shine)
Pink Polish (I used Cascade Cool)
Blue Polish (I used Bikini So Teeny)
Teal Polish (I used Mint Candy Apple)
Toothpicks

Directions:

1. Prep your nails by pushing back your cuticles and filing to the desired shape and apply a base coat.

2. Add two layers of pink polish. Allow to dry for 2-5 minutes.

3. Using a toothpick, create a small blue triangle at the base of each nail, the width of the natural half-moon shape of your nail. It is easier to create the outline of the triangle first and then fill in the rest of the triangle. Let the nails dry for ~10 minutes to ensure the triangle shape is dry.

4. Create a smaller teal triangle on top of the blue triangle, using another toothpick. Allow the second triangle to dry for another 10 minutes before applying the top coat. If you don’t wait long enough, you may smudge the triangle.

5. Apply a shiny top coat.
