easy valentine's day manicure 06February 14th is right around the corner so I came up with this quick and easy Valentine’s Day manicure I could do at home.
easy-valentines-day-manicure-01I am not a big manicure person. I hardly ever paint my nails because I just don’t have the time to keep them up. The only free-time I have to paint them is during nap time or before bed (which never works because they don’t dry in time and get all creased while I sleep).easy valentine's day manicure easy-valentines-day-manicure-03Given my lack of time, I found Valentine’s Day manicure inspiration on Pinterest. A lot of them were just too ornate or time-consuming for me to accomplish. Then, I found a simple manicure with a tiny red heart in the lower left corner of the ring finger. I used this idea as inspiration for this super easy Valentine’s Day Manicure.easy-valentines-day-manicure-04In total, this took me less than 5 minutes to accomplish, not counting drying time. I love the subtle and simple little pink hearts against the fleshy pink. If you want to try this one at home, here are the steps I followed.easy-valentines-day-manicure-05

Easy Valentine’s Day Manicure

You will need:

Base Coat (I used this)
Pink or Red Polish (I used this)
Light Pink or Clear Polish (I used this)
Top Coat (I used this)
Toothpicks

Directions:

1. Apply a base coat and let dry.

2. Dip the toothpick into the dark pink or red polish and create two tiny dots next to each other on your nail. Create a triangle below the two dots to connect them and form a heart. If that seems too complicated, you can actually just put three dots and fill in the open spots with polish. (Feel free to move the heart to other spots on the nail. I like that they are off-center and not too perfect, but you could definitely put them in the middle of the nail or make them larger if you prefer).

3. Once the hearts are dry, apply 1-2 coats of the light pink or clear polish.

4. Once dry, apply a shiny top coat. That’s it!
