2015 Pantone Color of the Year
I’ve always been into fashion, but since I started blogging, I’ve become hyper aware of trends and styles. I didn’t even know what a Pantone color was until about a year ago. Now that I follow color trends more closely, I was super excited when they announced marsala as the 2015 Pantone color of the year.
I love marsala, which is a darker red/ burgundy/bordeaux color. It has a subtle earthiness to it, with brown and red undertones. This color family has always been one of my favorites because it is universally flattering and this particular color works well for both men and women.
The other great thing about marsala is that the color acts like a neutral, so you can add it to your wardrobe really simply. A marsala handbag or shoes could be subbed in for any brown or black accessory. A marsala blazer vest could easily replace your standard black blazer.
I’ve pulled some of my current favorite pieces in marsala just to give you an idea of what’s out there. I know I’ll be adding marsala to my spring wardrobe, and maybe even my makeup routine (check out this funky eye liner and mascara).
