New York Fashion Week F/W 2015

new-york-fashion-week-fw-2015-ready-to-wearNew York Fashion Week F/W 2015 wraps up on Thursday. I love fashion week. Even though I haven’t attended yet, it’s on my bucket list. It almost felt like I was there, just by scanning my Instagram feed. There were so many runway images and short video clips to watch.

A lot of the fall/winter 2015 collections weren’t my favorite, but there were several designers’ collections that really stood out to me. Here are just three of the designers whose collections I really enjoyed.

I love how he played with proportions mixing shorter skirts with longer coats, unexpected lengths for tops and skirts, and his mix of different textured fabrics. His cut-out booties are pretty great too.

The most surprising (in a good way) collection I saw this year was Coach’s rocker grunge collection. I generally think of coach as pretty and preppy, but this fall collection was so unexpected. I was literally blown away when I saw this gray short sleeve dress. I WANT IT, BAD! And my Instagram followers loved it too. Besides the dress, my favorite part of the collection was the leather jackets, but I also loved how they used shearling and plaids to make grunge look really cool.

I also loved the interesting textured materials she used and touches of embellishments, like leaves and fringe.
