New Years Eve Looks

New Years Eve is one of those special occasions where I think it’s totally acceptable to splurge a little bit on your look. You should buy something that makes you feel incredibly special, at least every now and then. If budget is your worry, there are tons of great party dresses out there at reasonable prices.

I’ve put together three different New Years Eve looks for three different occasions: dinner with your man, a night out with the girls, or a party at your friend’s house.

Dinner with Your Man

I love this Milly dress because it is form fitting and sexy, but the overlay of the skirt provides full coverage while still showing some skin. The dress has great seaming at the bust and waist to really define your chest and waist line, giving you the perfect hour glass shape. Since the dress is dark, I added bold color with the striking red coat. Both the dress and coat have graphic details for visual interest. The earrings, clutch and shoes add touches of sparkle and shine.

Dress – Milly
Earrings – Daily Look
Coat – Mod Cloth
Clutch – MM6 Maison Martin Margiela
Shoes – Pedro Garcia

Night Out with Your Girls

I chose a bodycon dress that shows off your hot bod, but in a subtle way. It is figure flattering by hugging the body, but the midi length leaves a little to the imagination. I love the idea of choosing another saturated color, like adding an emerald green clutch and earrings, which go so well with the cobalt blue in the dress. Top the dress with a cropped leather and tweed jacket, with a touch of shimmer, and tall glamorous heels to elongate your legs.

Dress – ABS Allen Schwartz
Earrings – LOFT
Coat – J. Mendel
Clutch – Nathalie Trad
Shoes – Steve Madden

Party at Your Friend’s House

For a party at a friend’s house, you might opt for something more casual, like jeans and booties. But if you aren’t sure what the crowd is going to be like or just how fancy to get, I always suggest overdressing. It’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed. I love pairing a cropped top with a long midi skirt—you balance the bare top with a more covered bottom. Top the look with a long black coat with sequins touches and add even more sparkle with this Edie Parker clutch. Finish the look with pointed toe booties, which elongate the leg line to add more balance to the longer skirt.

Top – New Look
Skirt – ASOS
Bangle – Simon Sebbag
Coat – Anna Sui
Clutch – Edie Parker
Booties – Vince Camuto
