Three Pays: Pink Pleated Midi Skirt Look
It’s no secret that I’m a midi skirt fan. Midi skirts are feminine and flirty. Their longer length is more conservative, but midi skirts can easily be made sexy with a crop top or fitted sleeveless blouse and sky-high heels.
I love this pink pleated midi skirt look because it is so versatile and shows how you can take a more spring/summery piece and make it work for fall. This look is stylish and work-appropriate but could easily transition for a night out. I also love how this look is layered but the dimensions still work with the longer skirt. Because the pink pleated midi skirt hangs close to the body, the boxy jacket proportions work. The cropped sweatshirt gives the allusion of a high waistline, while the white blouse underneath helps transition the summery crop top to a fall look.
The Bordeaux heels are in the same color family as the skirt, so they really pop while elongating the leg line to offset the longer skirt length. The snakeskin texture on the shoes adds another interesting element to the look. The original look also features a snakeskin clutch. I would love to see this look with a metallic tote or clutch for some shine.
Of the three looks, the biggest difference in price is due to the shoes—real snakeskin vs. synthetic. The jackets are also dramatically different prices, due to branding, craftsmanship and materials used. I replicated this pink pleated midi skirt look at two additional price points to show how you can recreate any look regardless of your budget. You can find great pieces all over, if you are willing to look.
