What's your go-to work style in the summer? Lately, I've been into lightweight slacks with cute jackets. I recently got this lace jacket, and I definitely think it's going to get a lot of wear this summer. Summers in LA are not that much different than winters. Beyond a few weeks near the end of summer or early fall, it's normally pretty temperate, especially since I'm near the beach. That's why my go-to summer work wardrobe still includes pants and jackets, because I need the layers. Although I do love dresses, and wear them often, I think jackets really make a work look. Hip or waist-length jackets generally look better with pants. Whereas, longer jackets or cropped jackets can look great with dresses. I recently got this white lace jacket and I think it pairs perfectly with a lot of things in my wardrobe, especially my paper bag pants. The length of it looks awkward with dresses. I do think it could look cute with cut-offs if you're going for a more casual vibe. I actually think light-colored cut-offs with some white or beige pumps and this lace jacket would be a killer evening or happy hour look. I'm slowly learning to embrace denim shorts. They look so cute on straight-sized girls, but I've always been self-conscious in shorts. However, I do think a pair of cutoffs, like these, would look so cute with the tank and jacket I have paired here, along with pumps like these. In terms of accessories and shoes, I kept it pretty neutral. However, I did add in some chunky gold accents because I think white and gold look so great together. For my shoes and bag, I did stick with beige, which I think is great for summer and I didn't want the look to be too matchy. Overall, this feels like the perfect work outfit that could be easily transitioned to a night outfit. I would swap out the pants for shorts or jeans for a more casual look.
