During the holidays, I made one of my favorite quick appetizers - puff pastry-wrapped brie. It is such an easy, yet appears elevated, appetizer. Keep in mind that puff pastry will puff up during baking, so be sure to prick it with a fork before baking to allow steam to escape. How to Prepare Frozen Puff Pastry Frozen puff pastry is a convenient option for making pastries, as it eliminates the time-consuming process of making the dough from scratch. You can find frozen puff pastry in the frozen fruit and pie area of your grocery store. To prepare frozen puff pastry, follow these steps: Take the frozen puff pastry out of the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Once the puff pastry has thawed, remove it from the packaging and place it on a lightly floured work surface. Roll out the puff pastry to the desired thickness, using a rolling pin. Cut the puff pastry into the desired shape and size, using a sharp knife or a pastry cutter. Place the cut puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the puff pastry with an egg wash (beaten egg) or milk to give it a nice golden color. Add any desired toppings or fillings before baking. Preheat the oven to 400°F (220°C) and bake the puff pastry for 10-15 minutes or until it is golden brown and puffed. Remove the puff pastry from the oven and let it cool before serving. How to Make Puff Pastry Pizza Recipes Puff pastry pizza is a variation of traditional pizza that uses puff pastry as the base instead of pizza dough. Here are a few methods for reheating puff pastry: Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the pastry is warm and crispy. Microwave: Place the puff pastry on a microwave-safe plate and heat it on high for 15-30 seconds or until it's warm.
