I love to bake. It is so therapeutic and a really great stress-reliever. The holidays can be so stressful and finding gifts for everyone can feel like such a challenge. That's why I love to give baked goods as gifts. This year, I created these little Christmas tree brownies and found cute little white boxes, perfect for gift-giving. This Christmas tree brownies recipe couldn't be easier. Although I generally prefer homemade baked goods, sometimes the packaged treats work just as well. To make these, first you need a 9x13 pan and a box of brownie mix. I found a family-sized box but you could also just buy two regular sized boxes and mix them together. Once you make the brownies according to package directions, let them cool completely. To make the Christmas tree brownies, you will need a Christmas tree cookie cutter, or you could also print out a shape and cut them by hand with a knife. Once you cut them out, I suggest you flip them over and add the frosting to the underside of the brownies. There will be less flaking and much easier to frost. Once they are frosted, you can add any chocolate or candy sprinkles on top. I also added a yellow frosting star using a star tip and piping bag. If that's too much effort for you, a yellow candy would work just as well. (If you're interested in cake decorating, this set is awesome) If you want to box up your treats, you can either find little white boxes (I'm getting these boxes\u00a0next time) at a local craft or baking shop, or you could use clear cellophane to wrap them. I decorated the little Christmas tree brownies with ribbon and a Merry Christmas tag (how cute are these gift tags\u00a0?). I'm so happy how they turned out and I'm sure my friends and family will love them as much as I do. Let cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare your yellow frosting by adding food coloring to the white frosting and placing it in the piping bag with the star tip attachment. Using the tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut out tree shapes. I was able to get 13 trees from the pan of brownies. Set aside (and eat the scraps!). Frost each tree with a thin coat of green frosting. Sprinkle with sprinkles and add mini chocolates as ornaments. Add a yellow star to the top of your tree. Set aside to dry. Continue the process until all of your trees are complete. Enjoy!
