To kick off our Thanksgiving break, our friends at Hyatt Regency Indian Wells hosted us. Although we’ve visited Palm Springs before, this is our first time staying here and we’ll definitely be back. This hotel is the ideal destination for families and anyone who wants a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If you’re looking for the best Palm Springs hotels for kids, you definitely need to read about our experience at the Hyatt Regency.

Palm Springs Hotels For Kids

If you’re in SoCal, it’s just a two-hour drive. Immediately when we arrived, I felt relaxed and like I was on a tropical vacation. The grounds at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells are so stunning. They overlook the mountains and palm trees as far as you can see. The sunset out here was equally stunning. The candy-color sky was so striking against the dark shadows of the mountains.

Palm Springs Hotels with Waterslides and Lazy River

Probably the biggest attraction for families to come to the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is the massive Water Park right on site. The water park alone makes this one of the best Palm Springs hotels for kids. They definitely have one of the best pools for kids in Palm Springs area. The waterpark includes HyTides Plunge, the tallest waterslides in the desert. They have a set of 30-foot dueling waterslides. It’s a 3 story ride.  The Hyatt Regency is also one of the only Palms Springs hotels with lazy river, splash pad that includes dumping buckets and water cannons, and waterslides. The whole water park features seven expansive pools, overlooking the mountains and palm trees.

On the first day, we arrived at the pool at about 2pm. Although it was quite busy, I was pleasantly surprised that plenty of seating options were still available. The hotel also offers cabanas and daybeds. We were lucky enough to get a daybed our second day at the hotel, and it was so nice to have a dedicated shaded area so the kids always knew where to come back to find me, as they ran around, enjoying all of the fun features of the water park.

Honestly, this is one of the nicest hotel pool areas we’ve ever experienced. If your kids love to swim as much as mine do, it’s definitely worth the trip out to Indian Wells.

Hyatt Regency Room Options

Another thing I loved about our stay at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is they offer several different housing options. If you have a large family, they have options for you. This is one more reason I think this is one of the best Palm Springs hotels for kids.

They gave us an expansive guest room with two queen beds. I loved how the room was separated by a wall and even had two steps down to the other bed area. We also had a large balcony that overlooked even more palm trees and the mountains. The large bathroom also had a stand-alone soaking tub and a shower, which is always a great option for families. I love the option to take a bath or a shower.

If you want more space, the hotel also offers villas. They have one and two-bedroom villas and also a presidential villa. The villas range in size from 1100 to 1800 square feet. Beyond villas, the hotel also offers suites. They have three different suite options ranging in size from 875 – 1100 square feet. No matter your family size or preferred room type, the Hyatt Indian Wells definitely will have the space for you.

Palm Springs Pet-Friendly Hotels

I was happily surprised to learn that the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is pet-friendly. For a one-time fee of $150, your dog can stay with you (service animals are allowed without a fee). As long as your dog is under 75 pounds or two dogs under 100 pounds combined, they can stay with you. The fact that it’s a pet-friendly hotel is just one more reason I think the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is a great choice. I know many people struggle to find care for their dogs, and now you don’t have to worry about that either.

Overall, we highly enjoyed our time at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. The rooms and the pool were amazing and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had nothing but an ultra-positive experience, and we’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for Palm Springs hotels for kids, you definitely should consider this one.
