I’m so in love with this cute little romper because it appears it’s a dress, but underneath there are hidden shorts! I also love the adorable star and constellation print. How to Wear Romper Shorts in the Fall
1. Add Layers
If you want to extend the life of your romper past the summer, you need to find suitable layers. I chose to wear a cropped denim jacket with my romper because it cuts off just at the right place to create a long enough waistline, especially with the shorter length of the romper. If you wear a jacket that is too long, it might look odd. However, it really depends on the jacket. I’ve seen people wear blazers with shorts and they look pretty adorable. In this case, the blazer is just slightly shorter than the full length of the shorts for a very streamlined look. If you don’t want to wear a cropped jacket, or a longer blazer, a cropped cardigan could also work well.
2. Change Up Your Shoes
If you want to wear rompers in the fall, you can wear your standard summer sandals. You need to change up your shoes. I personally love to wear heels with shorts because it really helps to elongate the leg line. This black romper looks great with these strappy heels. Another way to wear cute rompers is to add booties or tall over-the-knee boots. Any style of shorts can work for fall or winter with the right footwear. Try different things on and just make sure to balance the look with the right accessories.
3. Add Fall Colors to Your Romper Shorts Look
Throw on some rich red accents, as I did. Or, you may want to add some jewel tones or other fall colors (think burnt oranges and goldenrods) to take your cute rompers from summer to fall. The addition of a classic red bag and bold red lips instantly transforms a casual daytime romper into a great evening look.
