9 Awesome Black and White Dresses Under $30

There are certain looks that feel timeless, iconic even. For me, that’s any combination of black and white. When I saw this black and white striped dress I knew I had to order it. I can still remember my absolute favorite look to go out when I was in college. It was this black v-neck chevron black and white top. The chevron stripes were so figure-flattering and the cut of the shirt was so good. I’ve been a fan of black and white dresses, and any other clothing item for that matter, ever since.

I love black and white striped dresses because they are eye-catching without feeling over the top. They also work on a lot of occasions. This dress would be great for work, but could also transition for a happy hour or even a date-night look. This dress is also super comfortable and I love the v-neck. The waist is elasticized so it creates a great hour-glass shape, yet the skirt is a-line so it really floats away from the body.

To style the look, I chose some strappy black sandals, my classic Chanel camera bag, and a few gold accents with some large gold earrings and a dainty gold necklace. I prefer gold jewelry with my skin tone and I do love how gold and black look together. If I were wearing this dress to work, I would opt for classic black pumps and a hip-length sleek black blazer. It could also work with a colored blazer such as red, pink, or even green. It might not seem obvious, but black and white, even in a striped pattern, are neutrals, so you really can top it with any color blazer.
