You know that time at the beginning of spring where it’s not quite that warm yet but you want to wear summer dresses? That’s why I got this yellow and black floral dress. It is the perfect transition piece from winter to spring. The yellow floral print on a black dress feels very wintery, but can also work great the rest of the year too! It really just depends on how you style it.

This floral dress looks great with strappy heels, and equally great with knee-high boots for cooler days. I also love to pair this dress with a long black cardigan and ballet flats for a work look. Or, I can add a cropped leather jacket and strappy heels for a nighttime look. It’s such a versatile piece that it really does work year-round.
I wore my dress on a decently warm spring day so I chose to pair it with these cute strappy heels. I linked to a similar pair, although mine are from last season. Also, I chose a bold lipstick color to add some pop to my face. Although I didn’t choose to carry a purse for this look, I’d prefer to pair it with a dainty black quilted purse for this look. The bag would change depending on the vibe and purpose of the look. For a work look, I’d carry one of my larger totes, for example.
Another thing I love about this dress is the lace detail at the neckline and the see-through lace that creates a belt at the waist. I love that this dress has a fancy feel but at a completely affordable price point (under $20). Overall, this black floral dress is a great transition piece for spring and I know this is one I’m going to wear all year long.
