I’m on The Okayest Moms Podcast

When my friends at the Okayest Moms asked me to be on their podcast, of course, I said yes! I met Brittany and Heather a year ago at the Beaches Social Media on the Sand Conference. We clicked right away because they are so much fun and don’t take themselves seriously. They are funny and real, especially when it comes to motherhood. Click below to listen to the Okayest Moms Podcast.

Okayest Mom’s Podcast

If you haven’t checked out the Okayest Moms yet, you should definitely give them a follow on Instagram and check out their blog too.  We had so much fun chatting on their podcast and I can’t wait to see them again soon. We were supposed to hang out in LA this fall during the Mom 2.0 conference, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed we’ll get to meet at the next one in Miami.

Here’s a bit more about Brittany and Heather:

They are Mom BFFs in their 30s living a stereotypical mom life in the Sacramento suburbs. They drive matching minivans (not on purpose, swear), are fueled by caffeine, and do our best to manage our sanity in the throws of the chaotic life of small children. You can read more about exactly what an Okayest Mom is here.

Okayest Moms Mission Statement:

The Okayest Moms is a community for the modern mom. In today’s digital age, there is no one right way to mother, but there is always countless opinions, advice, and photographic evidence of someone who is doing it “better” than you. With so many conflicting messages, we know firsthand the stress and confusion that can bring to your life. Instead of judging and comparing ourselves to these standards, let’s celebrate each other and the ways we choose to find happiness and joy in motherhood.

All we can do is our best with what we have. We believe that to be the best mom you can be, you need to hang up your mom hat regularly to do what feeds your soul- whether that be nights out with the girls, pursuing your career goals or snuggled up in bed by yourself with trashy reality TV and junk food (or a combination of all three!). Yet, everything is a give and take and we know that to take time for yourself means you have to move something to the back burner. But, that should not be a source of guilt! Mom life is nothing but a constant shuffle between the front and back burners, sometimes changing minute to minute. It’s just a reality of life and it should never discourage you from taking time to be someone other than just Mom.

We believe that you can have everything, just not at the same time. Being a mom doesn’t mean being everything to everyone all the time, nor do we think that should be the Gold Standard. So let’s celebrate one another for the things they choose to do (or not do!) to keep themselves and their families sane and healthy.
