How are you celebrating the 4th of July this weekend? Since my family is still practicing social distancing as much as possible, we will definitely stay close to home. We’ll probably have a little bbq at our neighborhood park. I was hoping to take my kids to see fireworks this year, but all of the events near me have been canceled. We can still have a fun time at our house with the old fashioned at-home fireworks. You remember, those little spinners, tanks, smoke bombs. I’m not sure what I’m going to wear for the 4th, but I know it will be summery and lightweight. This white long sleeve midi dress is definitely on my list.
As a blogger, I have to admit that dressing for the occasion is something I take even more seriously. There are always photo opportunities, so I like to be prepared. This white long sleeve midi dress is something I would definitely rock for the 4th of July for several reasons. First, I love the lightweight material. Even if we end up having a hot day, I know this dress will still be cool enough. It is airy and lightweight, even though it’s a white midi dress.
I also love this dress because it has so much movement, which is fun for photos with my kids. My daughter loves to twirl and spin in her dresses, and honestly, its equally fun as an adult. It’s fun to feel ultra-feminine. Another reason I love this dress is because it is machine washable and looks nice even if it’s not ironed. All of the well-placed lacey sections make it really breezy and pretty.
To style this dress, I chose to add cute nude heels and a fun summery hat. It’s a great hat choice for the 4th of July too because it has just a touch of blue, a subtle nod to our U.S. colors, without being so obvious.
